Photoshop

When scanning images it is better to use the high quality setting for scanning the image in, it will take longer to scan the image in but in the end it will result with a better overall image.

The difference between resizing an image and resampling one involves whether or not the number of pixels is affected.  Resizing an image only changes the sixe the image will pring without changing the number of pixels the image has, while resampling the image actually changes the number of pixels within the image itself.

Color

The color wheel is a way of displaying the colors by hue and color sections such as primary and secondary.

Some of the most common color palettes include monochromatic, complementary, warm vs. Cool, Triadic, and Tetradic.

Color contrast in web design makes pages more user friendly because if you use all very similar colors throughout the whole site it will make it harder to read text or make important information stand out from the information that is not quite so important.

Color contrast has a lot of importance in design because not only does it make things stand out against the background it also creates dimension.

Color can definately set the mood of a site. When designing a website you want to look at what mood you want to create for your target audience, such as if you were creating a site that would mainly be for a younger audience you would want to use much brighter colors, mainly the primary ones.

Importance of Copyright

Copyright is very important to designers because without it just anyone could use your work whether they had your permission to or not. I think that copyright helps protect the artist or creator behind the work from having someone else take their work and use it or try to use it as their own.

Copyright affects everyone who creates works of their own, not just graphic and web designers. Copyrights make it harder for a designer to legally use just what ever graphics or images that they want to use, but they also make it harder for the work or designs that you have created yourself to be stolen or copied without your permission.

Stock art is images and/or graphics that are used in a variety of designs to help blend images together, make different backgrounds, or to even  add more to the overall design itself.  There are many different places on the web to get stock images legally,  some of which are free for anyone to use and other that charge a small fee.  Some of the free ones that are out there include stock.xchng, Open Photo, and Flickr Creative Commons. Some of the others include iStockPhoto, Dreamstime, Fotolia, BigStockPhoto, and Shutterstock. I have used stock.xchng in the past and have found it very useful in finding what I’ve needed to create different pieces.

Creativity

When I have trouble coming up with ideas for projects alot of times I will listen to music or look back at some of my other projects from the past & try to get inspiration there.

Introductory Reflection

I think having a blog would be very helpful because you could post notes about things you are currently working on & have that information readily available for you to look back on at later dates.

I don’t the exact web addresses for some of the blogs I’ve found useful, but many of the tutorials I’ve looked at come from blogs & many of my favorite websites, the person behind it not only updates that site but also has a blog that corresponds alongside their website.
